Scelta Mushrooms is an organisation active in the worldwide marketing and sales of frozen mushrooms.
These products are destined for applications in the food industry, namely for the production of pizzas, convenience and ready meals, soups, sauces etc. Scelta Mushrooms' customer base includes renowned companies such Nestlé, Unilever and Campbell’s.
Scelta also serves the wholesale trade and suppliers to the hotel, restaurant and catering branch and the institutional sector. They also supply to national and international supermarket chains.
The mushrooms marketed by Scelta Mushrooms are cultivated in growing facilities at various locations in the Netherlands and abroad. The major growers are Champi’mer in Kesteren, Scelta Products in Yerseke and Blanchaud in France.
In early 2007, construction started in Boekend, close to Venlo, of The Scelta Institute, a highly modern and innovative building project, which will accommodate a combination of various functions. This site will be the new office of Scelta Mushrooms and will also house a demonstration farm where mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus and strawberries will be cultivated, plus a research centre focussing on a range of product developments. The Scelta Institute will also feature a professional kitchen where chefs can give demonstrations and tastings of new product combinations and recipes.
